ailing from Houston, Texas, I am a retired competitive Irish dancer, a photographer trained at the Glassell School of Art, and an Irish Studies minor at the University of St. Thomas. I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember, and since discovering Irish dance seven years ago, it’s hard to imagine life without it!

“Cairde” is the Irish word for friends. I’ve chosen this word to represent the marriage of my two loves, Irish culture and photography, because the most lasting impact my Irish dance career has had on my life have not been the medals or trophies I won during my competitive days. The close friendships that I forged, with dancers from all over the country, are some of the most enduring in my life.

As a former competitive Irish dancer, I have a unique advantage over other photographers. I remember those first feis jitters, the relief of that Novice first, and know firsthand the spirit of camaraderie and craic that underlies an Irish dance competition. It’s my hope that my enthusiasm for the dance culture, as well as my knowledge of proper Irish form, will result in the best pictures of your dancer possible.

Mo sheacht mbeannacht ort!
(My seven blessings on you)
